Kathleen Hanna talks at the 2011 Planned Parenthood Stand Up For Women’s Health Rally.

After the House of Representatives voted to cut funding for Planned Parenthood last month, the reproductive and sexual health organization put together the Stand Up for Women’s Health rally in New York City, which went down on Saturday. Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle performed solo and acoustic at the protest, just like old times, and Bikini Kill/Le Tigre frontwoman Kathleen Hanna was among the speakers.

In his six minutes on stage, Darnielle claimed that he wasn’t any good at making political speeches, made some convincing political speeches anyway, and played a couple of rousing oldies  (“Jenny” and “Color in Your Cheeks”) from his 2002 album All Hail West Texas. Hanna, meanwhile, spoke glowingly of her experience with Planned Parenthood.
